Accepted Answer

While each cleaning company is different, Maid for Jersey offers several options for accessing your home while you are at work depending on your level of comfort:

You can can provide Maid for Jersey with a key to your home.
If you have a garage keypad and code, you can provide Maid for Jersey with the access code.
If you work locally and feel more comfortable, you can arrange a time to meet your Maid for Jersey cleaning team at your home on the day of your service so you personally are able to open the door. Then, either we can lock the door behind us or you can be present during the cleaning service.

If I provide my house key to a Hunterdon County residential cleaning service, what steps are taken to safeguard that key?

Each residential cleaning company has its own policy but, at Maid for Jersey, if a homeowner or renter provides us with a key to their residence, that key is never labeled. Instead, the key is numbered and securely locked up at our office until the day of your scheduled cleaning service.

Do local cleaning companies provide the cleaning supplies or do I need to that?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the individual cleaning company. The Maid for Jersey cleaning team will bring our natural products and cleaning supplies. Our clients, however, provide their own trash liners. Additionally, if clients have a special product they would prefer Maid for Jersey use to clean their home, they will need to provide that product and leave it out for the cleaning team’s use.

Accepted Answer

Some residential cleaning companies charge by the hour and some by the job. Although there are advantages and disadvantages of the various methods for establishing residential cleaning prices, i.e., hourly versus job rates, Maid for Jersey feels that it is most appropriate to price a cleaning service by the job. Charging by the job allows the Maid for Jersey cleaning team to spend as much time in your home as is required to ensure a quality cleaning job every time.

What methods of payment do local house cleaning companies accept and when is payment due?

Accepted Answer

Different housecleaning companies have different policies regarding payment. At Maid for Jersey, we accept checks, cash, credit cards and, of course, Maid for Jersey’ gift certificates! Payment is always due at the time of service unless other arrangements are made in advance, i.e., discounted pre-paid services.

All payments should be left in the residence on the day of a client’s scheduled service. The payment may be placed in an envelope and sealed. Please note that there is a fee (currently $35) for all returned checks.

How much advance notice do I need to give if I want to cancel a scheduled house cleaning service?

Accepted Answer

Often there are fees incurred with cancelling a house cleaning service. At Maid for Jersey, we have a $35 cancellation fee. In order to avoid this fee, we request customers provide at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling a scheduled cleaning service. If the cancellation is caused by an emergency, however, the $35 cancellation fee may be waived.

What steps do local house cleaning companies take to ensure customer satisfaction and what recourse do customers have when not satisfied?

Each residential cleaning service deals with customer satisfaction in their own way. At Maid for Jersey, customer satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied with the household cleaning job that was done in your home, we have not done our job correctly. If you are not happy, we are not happy.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with the cleaning done by our cleaning team, Maid for Jersey requests that you call us within 24 hours. We then will do whatever is within our capability to rectify the situation such as re-cleaning an area, etc., at no charge to you.
